Football is by far the most popular sport in Haiti. When they are bored, people like to play football. Unlike other nearby countries, Haiti does not appreciate baseball.Haiti qualified for the world cup in 1974 with Germany. Emmanuel Sanon is one of Haiti's most popular players. But, Sylvio Cator is a football legend. Cator has won multiple awards. He died in November 1938, but many people still think of him with respect. The national stadium in Port-au-Prince was renamed after him in his honor. Another great sports hero was Joseph Gaetjen.
